After reading "Shoe Dog"
One book that I enjoyed reading most was shoe dog. This book narrated about how the founder of Nike, Phil Knight created such a world-famous and enduring sports brand through his crazy ideas and firm determination. I loved this book, because I saw myself and my future through his works.
On one hand, I was impressed by his perseverance and innovative ideas. When Phil Knight had the idea of building a competitive athlete brand in the United States, he thought about acquiring capital from peers. Thus, he resolutely chose to go to Japan to negotiate a contract with the most popular athlete brand Onitsuka Tiger. Although everyone would regard it impossible to make the negotiation, Phil Knight didn't give up and finally got permission to sell Onitsuka Tiger shoes in the United States. It was the beginning of Nike and his remarkable career, and it also encouraged me to do whatever I want.
On the other hand, I gained a better understanding and determination toward my future through his story. When Nike was just established, it was sued for plagiarism by Onitsuka Tiger. This was a huge blow to Nike in its infancy, but Phil Knight did not give in. Instead, he chose to protect himself and the brand by defending his rights using laws as his weapon. This highlighted the importance Phil Knight places on the brand's reputation, which made me more aware of the artisan spirit spreading among the fashion industry.
