Autism Children

Because we went to the autistic children's education institution can not take a lot of photos for fear of causing some reaction in the children. So it's mostly just a little bit of text from me.

For this club, we first looked at the autism community. Autism, unlike other psychological disorders, is entirely genetic. And there's no cure for autism. Autism can only be reduced through guidance and intervention. Most children with autism show symptoms when they begin to learn to speak. Others show symptoms because of environmental influences. According to statistics, the prevalence of autism in children is now as high as one in 59, which means that one in every 59 children will develop autism. These children are not able to feel the world, express their emotions, or even perceive sound and touch like normal children. They need the guidance of professional teachers to help them learn to express themselves and experience the world. In China, the subsidy for children with autism is 21,000 yuan a year. But only if they stay on an intervention course for at least nine months a year, so that the government can keep the subsidy going.

Play with Autism Children

We went to one of the more prominent autism research institutes in the area, which offers classes to teach children with autism. That's where we found a lot of help for this group. First of all, the most obvious problem with autism institutes is the lack of teachers. According to a faculty member of the institute, the institute has more than 10 faculty members and has enrolled about 20 students. A large proportion of children with autism do not have access to this professional instruction program. Because the professional coaching courses for autism recommend one-on-one sessions. Because at first, it is difficult for autistic children to play with other children and integrate with them. Exposure to the outside world in the first place could worsen their illness. But one-on-one classes mean teachers can't distribute their attention to many children, and they can be very expensive. Another problem is that the Autism Institute has no way to recruit volunteers from the community to help out on a regular basis. Because volunteers in the community don't have the expertise to work with autistic children. It is possible that those children will have other adverse reactions from their casual actions, which can lead to more and more serious illnesses. So it's hard for us to help the Autism Institute teachers to share the burden.

Economic and social prejudice against parents. According to the survey, it is difficult for us to propose more bailout money to the government through our own efforts due to economic problems. But there are other ways that we can help autism Research to make money, so we can reduce the cost. I observed that the Autism Institute would copy the pictures that autistic kids drew in class and make them into key rings. I think they could sell those keychains at a market or something. The money is used to help children with autism. Second, the Autism Institute accepts donations of picture books and paintbrushes. We can appeal for donations through campaigns and other opportunities. The second is public opinion and prejudice against children with autism. The only way we can do that is by writing online articles about children with autism and making videos to dispel these prejudices.

Drawing by Autism Children

I have some ideas about what this club will do in the future, whether we can sell some paintings of autistic children in the online or offline market to help raise some funds to support their learning, including reading.
